MMA Odds and Ends for Friday: Silva vs. Bisping set for UFC London, Happy Holidays

UFC Fight Night 83 adds Anderson Silva vs. Michael Bisping as it’s main event  UFC officials announced Thursday that the promotion is putting their most decorated middleweight champion on UFC Fight Pass. Silva (33-6) is scheduled to complete for the first time since win over Nick Diaz, a fight which he won but was later overturned to a No-Contest due to him testing positive for multiple banned substances. Bisping (27-7) was slated to take on Gegard Mousasi, but instead got an early Christmas present in the former middleweight champion. The Brit is riding a two-fight win streak after defeating C.B. Dollaway and most recently Thales Leites. Mousasi still to remain on card  Despite losing his opponent, middleweight Gegard Mousasi is still slated to appear on the UFC Fight Night 83 card as the promotion works on a replacement opponent. Mousasi (37-6-2) is coming off a shocking TKO loss to Uriah Hall in his last fight, where was finished by strikes for the first time in the UFC.   UFC Fight Night 83 takes place Feb. 27 at The O2 in London.
