UFC Fight Night 73’s Sam Alvey: ‘Derek Brunson is very knockout-able’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 73 middleweight Sam Alvey as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout this Saturday night (August 8, 2015) against Derek Brunson at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The former MFC champion and Ultimate Fighter season 16 contestant knows his opponent will be looking to take him down, but Alvey also feels his tremendous knockout power is the ultimate equalizer:

“I think I can stop anyone. I think [Derek Brunson’s] gonna be more difficult to stop than the other guys because I have to worry about him shooting under my punches when none of the other guys I really expect that, and even Dylan [Andrews] did shoot under a punch when I wasn’t expecting him to. The last two Ijust caught on their way in. He’s very knockout-able. I’ve seen it happen to him before in the UFC even. It’s just a matter of if I can catch him without him getting under me.”
