MMA Odds and Ends for Monday: Changes to UFC Fight Night 70

Rick Story Due to visa issues, a number of fights were scrapped, moved, or changed for UFC Fight Night 70, which goes down this Saturday at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. If you’re looking at the odds and wondering where some fights you were looking forward to betting went, here’s what happened to them. SCRAPPED

  • A welterweight fight between Rick Story and Erick Silva was completely scrapped from the card after Silva could not acquire a visa.
  • A light heavyweight scrap featuring Nikita Krylov and Marcos Rogerio de Lima was scrapped after de Lima couldn’t get a visa.
  • A welterweight bout between Viscardi Andrade and Andreas Stahl was scrapped due to injury to Stahl.

MOVED

  • A bantamweight contest between Rani Yahya and Masanori Kanehara has been moved to UFC Fight Night 71, which takes place July 15 at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California.

NEW FIGHTS

  • Brazilian welterweight Alex Oliveira will welcome UFC newcomer Joe Merritt to the Octagon.
  • Lewis Gonzalez makes his UFC debut against Leandro Silva in a lightweight bout.
  • TUF 21’s Steve Montgomery takes on UFC newcomer Tony Sims in a lightweight contest.
