UFC 185’s Johny Hendricks: ‘When you hit Matt Brown, you have to mean it’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 185 welterweight Johny Hendricks about his upcoming main card bout this Saturday night (March 14, 2015) against Matt Brown at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

The talented former welterweight champion expects a stern test from Brown, and he feels he has the TUF season 7 veteran figured out in terms of how he’ll need to fight him:

“I see a guy that’s comfortable moving forward. He’s that type of fighter. He’s the type of guy that if you want to hit him, you’ve got to mean it. Because if you don’t, he’ll walk through it and land his own thing. He’s constantly, constantly trying to stay active and walk you down and that’s fine for me because when people do that, it’s easier to hit them. And for me, it puts a little more power on my punches when a guy comes into ya. I sort of like that about him. Also, if you take him down, you can’t relax. I fought another tall guy like that in Carlos Condit. You think if you take him down, you’ve got it made, but they’re both good off their back. He can be very dangerous if you allow him to be.”
