Sean-SpencerUFC Fight Night 59 Date: January 18, 2015 Arena: TD Garden City: Boston, MA The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Boston next Sunday night (Jan. 18, 2015) with UFC Fight Night 59 and will be featuring 12 bouts, including a four-fight main card that will be live on FOX Sports 1 at 10pm ET, with a six-fight preliminary card that will precede it on the same channel at 7pm ET, and a pair of scraps preceding that on UFC Fight Pass at 6pm ET. If interested in making this parlay, or any other wagers for this UFC fight card, you will be able to do so at Several Bookmakerss. Here’s my two-way parlay for UFC Fight Night 59’s Prelims on FS1: Lightweight bout: Cathal Pendred (+145) vs Sean Spencer (-165) Gabe’s Thoughts: I believe Spencer is the superior mixed martial artist of the two heading into this match-up and has been showing more improvements in his all-around skill-set from fight to fight. He is certainly the better striker, and with his solid and improved takedown defense, I think he will find success in keeping this fight on the feet and outpointing the Irishman. I don’t love his chances of getting the finish, however it would not surprise me in the least. The main thing that worries me is the possibility of a robbery when this fight hits the judges’ scorecards, which I think it will more often than not. The crowd will certainly be behind Pendred, so he has that going for him, but I feel like this is a fight made for Spencer to shine in, and I expect him to come through with a career best breakthrough performance. Gabe’s Call: Spencer by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Lightweight bout: Chris Wade (-450) vs Zhang Lipeng (+360) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Wade is going to completely dominate Lipeng and stop him, likely with a ground and pound TKO. If Lipeng manages to survive and this fight hits the judges’ scorecards for a decision, I think he will be seeing some 30-26 and 20-25 scores. That said, I think there’s a good chance Wade finds the finish within the first frame. Gabe’s Call: Wade by T/KO (punches, 3:23 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Sean Spencer (-165) parlayed with Chris Wade (-450) for -104 4.05u to win 3.9u
