UFC 178’s John Howard: ‘I’ll be shocked if Brian Ebersole can keep my pace’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 178 welterweight John Howard as he prepares for his upcoming preliminary card bout against Brian Ebersole this Saturday (September 27, 2014) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The longtime UFC veteran is coming off a tough loss to Ryan LaFlare, but he feels his high pace will make the difference against Ebersole come fight time:

“I think I’m a better athlete, a little younger and a lot more explosive. I’d be really shocked if he can keep my pace. I would have to shake his hand because my pace is really high, especially with the way I’ve been training. I’ve been training my behind off. If he can keep my pace, I’ll be really shocked. With my pace and my attributes as an athlete, I just don’t see it. He can take a punch and a few combinations so I’ll give him that, but my thing is, I want to see what happens when he gets hit by me. I have that type of power. I could go to K-1 and hold my own.”
