World Series of Fighting 9’s Steve Carl: ‘I’m banged up but that won’t be a factor against Palhares’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with World Series of Fighting 9 welterweight Steve Carl as he prepares for his main event title bout on Saturday night (March 29, 2014) against Rousimar Palhares at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Editor’s note: These interviews were taken a couple weeks apart, so the knee injury and back issues  Carl references in part one actually occurred over two months ago.

Part One

Part Two

“I’m a bit banged up. I’ve been taking my training camp a little smarter than last time. My back’s still giving me issues so I’m resting it a little bit. I dislocated my finger a couple weeks ago so I’ve been keeping away from contact a little bit. I actually tore my meniscus a month ago but none of that is gonna be a factor in the fight. I have no worries. It’ll be fine by the time the fight comes around. I’m gonna get in there. I’m gonna be healthy and it’s gonna be an explosive, fast fight.”
