Bellator 113’s David Rickels: ‘I’m better in rounds two and three than Patricky Pitbull’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 113 welterweight David Rickelsl as he prepares for his tournament quarterfinal bout on Friday night (March 21, 2014) against Patricky Pitbull at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas.

The former lightweight tournament winner knows he has a tall task ahead of him, but Rickels feels his conditioning and pace will wear the powerful Brazilian down:

“[Patricky Pitbull] likes to be a bully. But from what I’ve watched, he doesn’t like to be bullied. I think we’ve both got a lot of aggression when we fight but the difference between mine and his is mine gets better in rounds two and three. I pick it up more and he fades away. I absolute believe that pushing the pace is something I’m gonna need to do in this fight. I’m not a good fighter backing up so I don’t expect to do a whole lot of that and I don’t think he will either. I think we’re gonna meet in the middle and he’s dangerous in the first round but I truly believe there aren’t a lot of guys in the second and third that I can’t push the pace on.”
