Gabe Killian’s World Series of Fighting 7 Plays and Predictions

Georgi KarakhanyanWSOF 7 Date: December 7, 2013 Arena: PNE Agrodome City: Vancouver, B.C., Canada The World Series of Fighting 7 main card will be live on the NBC Sports Network starting at 9 p.m. ET. You can bet on these and all fights at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my plays for some of the main card fights: Inaugral Featherweight title bout: Georgi Karakhanyan (-135) vs Lance Palmer (+125) Fight Prediction: Both guys are fast, tough, and well-conditioned. Karakhanyan is skilled in every area of mixed martial arts, while Palmer only excels in the wrestling. Only way Palmer wins this fight is grinding out three out of five rounds. That is a possibility, but Karakhanyan’s advantages in striking and Brazilian-Jiu Jitsu may prove to be too much for Palmer. The Armenian has improved his takedown defense drastically since his time at Bellator. He has also added an offensive wrestling game to his arsenal. His takedowns and top game have become really solid, and it will be interesting to see the improvements he has made in that department since training with Bubba Jenkins in recent months. I think we may see Karakhanyan implement his own wrestling game, and put the Team Alpha Male product on his back. Gabe’s Pick: Georgi Karakhanyan by Unanimous Decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Georgi Karakhanyan -135 6.75u to win 5u Bantamweight title bout: Elvis Mutapcic (-130) vs Jesse Taylor (+120) Fight Prediction: Taylor is going to try to take the fight to the mat and get his ground and pound in, while Mutapcic is going to look to outpoint him on the feet. I could see Taylor getting a submission, or ground and pound TKO, and I could also see Mutapcic stopping Taylor with strikes. However, I don’t see it happening early on in the fight. Gabe’s Pick: Elvis Mutapcic by TKO (4:06, round 4) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 2.5 rounds -170 1.7u to win 1u Lightweight bout: Nick Newell (-405) vs Sabah Fadai (+360) Fight Prediction: To put it simply, I think Newell is going to get this fight to the mat within the first few minutes, and within a minute or so after that, he will have secured a sub. Gabe’s Pick:Nick Newell by Submission (arm triangle choke, 3:59 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Nick Newell (-405) 4.05u to win 1u, and Under 1.5 rounds (-140) 3.5u to win 2.5u
