World Series of Fighting 7’s Sabah Fadai: ‘I won’t underestimate Nick Newell’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with World Series of Fighting 7 lightweight Sabah Fadai as he prepares for his main card fight this weekend (Dec. 7, 2013) against Nick Newell at the PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The MFC veteran is fighting in his native country against Newell, and while Fadai respects Newell’s skills, he feels many of Newell’s previous opponents completely underestimated him heading into their bouts:

“He’s got pretty good wrestling. I’ve been working with a couple really good wrestlers. I don’t mind being on the ground with him. His ground game is good but I’ve got a lot of good guys like Bibiano Fernandes on my side. Yeah, he’s good on the ground but I’ve had submissions of my own. I’m not intimidated by his ground game or anything like that. I think what’s happening is a lot of people are underestimating him and that’s why they’re losing. I’m gonna give him the respect he deserves and I’m going to try to finish this fight quick.”
