Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 138:

  • The main event of Cage Warriors 138 is a middleweight bout between James Webb and Leon Aliu. Webb hasn’t fought since last March when he was knocked out by Matthew Bonner. However, he defeated UFC veteran Craig White before that by stoppage, and he is of course the former CWFC middleweight champion. Webb has a ton of experience fighting for CWFC and he is looking to get back into the title mix with a win here. As for Aliu, he is a Brave CF veteran who is making his CWFC debut in this fight. He also has quite a bit of pro experience, though Webb has faced better competition. This should be a good fight, but Webb opened as the favorite here as the former CWFC middleweight champion, and it makes sense.
  • As for the co-main event, it’s a bantamweight bout between Luke Shanks and Josh Reed. Shanks is another staple of CWFC and he has picked up some very nice wins during his years fighting for the promotion. As for Reed, he also has a ton of experience competing for CWFC and he’s a lot of fun to watch, as well. This should be a very fun fight between two guys who know how to finish a fight. The oddsmakers opened up Shanks opened up as the betting favorite for this one.
