Combate Americas recently held its 41th event in Fresno, California on Friday. Here are the betting results of the primary fights, as explained by MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas.

In the 130 pound catchweight main event at a 130 pound catchweight, Zoila Frausto closed -467 with Reina Cordoba closing +329. Cordoba made quick work of Frausto by scoring an early takedown and submitting her with an armbar at the midway point of round one. The betting public got burned here because they pushed Frausto hard from her -325 opener.

JC Llamas closed as a heavy -1444 favorite with the comeback on Ivan Castillo at +734. Llamas proved the oddsmakers and betters correct by smashing Castillo via TKO just 98 seconds into the first round. Betters won small, with Llamas also being a popular parlay piece.

Bantamweight Isaiah Batin-Gonzalez closed -145 favorite with Jesse Strader closing+116. The betting public came in on Gonzalez initially, and the line was bet back down by sharp action close to fight time, finishing with practically no line movement from the -145 and +115 opener. The finish made the Sportscenter top 10 as Strader crushed Batin-Gonzalez with a body-head combination, knocking him out cold. The sportsbooks and betting public pretty much broke even on this one with the line holding steady.

In lightweight action, Adrian Guzman opened a huge -1400 favorite but was pushed all the way back down to -250 before closing at -507 with heavy action coming in on his opponent Cesar Gonzalez, who closed +334. The bout went to the scorecards, with Guzman winning a clear 30-27 decision in a bout where the public thought it had a live dog, but the sportsbooks did pretty well.

In a bantamweight contest, Jose Avalos closed as a -410 favorite with Trey Branch closing +298, with two-way action coming in on both fighters with a slight lean on Avalos, who opened as a -355 favorite. The sportsbooks basically broke even when Avalos scored a first round submission, taking advantage of his strength on the ground.

In a flyweight fight between two prospects, Paul Elizondo closed a -510 favorite with the comeback on opponent Mike Tubera +357. Elizondo impressed with a last second finish at the end of the first round. Betting action was mostly two-way, with parlay action on Elizondo pushing the line up from its -345 opener. The sportsbooks took a small loss with the favorite winning in this bout.

Overall, the sportsbooks made a small to decent profit for Combate Americas 41. The next Combate event is Aug 23 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, with two titles on the line.
