Five Crazy UFC on FOX 8 Prop Bets That Cashed

Ed Herman There is often some tremendous value hidden in the prop bets for UFC cards, and the UFC on FOX 8 card was no exception to this as some incredibly profitable props cashed out for those who were smart enough to predict and bet them. Here’s a list of five crazy UFC on FOX 8 prop bets that cashed, courtesy of Several Bookmakers: Demetrious Johnson wins by submission (+554) Demetrious Johnson proved his critics who said he couldn’t finish a fight in the UFC wrong with a stunning fifth-round armbar with over John Moraga in the main event of UFC on FOX 8. It was a tremendous win for Johnson but even better was the fact that Johnson by submission cashed out at +544. If you were one of those who foresaw the Johnson submission path to victory, congrats, because you made out like a bandit here. Demetrious Johnson wins in round 5 (+1600) As well, the prop on Johnson to win in the fifth round — which really doesn’t happen all that often in UFC title fights — was priced at +1600, a huge number and with good reason as no one expected it to happen. But this is what makes MMA such a great sport and if you were one of those who thought Johnson would win in the fifth round, you deserve a cookie because never in a million years did I see that coming. Jorge Masvidal wins by submission (+1205) Jorge Masvidal only had one career submission win before UFC on FOX 8, but with his second-round D’arce choke submission of Michael Chiesa, he now has two and if you saw him winning this way you also are a happy person today as the prop for Masvidal to win by submission cashed at +1205. You know, it’s funny because I saw this prop when I was looking for different bets and I totally just dismissed it because if anyone was going to win the fight by submission, I thought, it was going to be Chiesa. Well, MMA proved once again how crazy it is and if you were crazy enough to predict this would happen, congratulations. Ed Herman vs. Trevor Smith Wins Fight Of The Night (+3500) When you have a card full of awesome fights on paper, you tend to overlook some of the prelims and that’s exactly what I did with the fight between Ed Herman and Trevor Smith, a fight which I didn’t care about and which turned out to be the best fight of UFC on FOX 8. This was an amazing back-and-forth duel between two fighters who really wanted to win and if you haven’t seen it yet, go do yourself a favor and watch it. Both fighters deserved their FOTN bonus checks and if you were smart enough to bet on them winning the bonus, congrats, because you would have cashed out at +3500, which is an extremely high number for a prop and it’s not likely another prop that’s this profitable will cash out for the rest of this year. Yaotzin Meza wins by submission (+451) One prop bet that I recommended on the “At Odds MMA Show” was the Yaotzin Meza by submission over John Albert prop, a bet that cashed out when Meza choked out Albert with a rear-naked choke in the second round of their Facebook curtain jerker. Albert has no cardio and once the fight hit the second round I knew Meza would be in full control, and once Albert’s legs literally gassed out from a triangle attempt, Meza was able to easily take his back and sink in the RNC for the win. This prop paid out a delicious +451 profit so if you bet on it, congrats.
