Your Best Bets for UFC 215’s ‘Fight of the Night’

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for the first time in promotional history with UFC 215: Johnson vs. Borg. The 11-fight card will kick off with preliminary action on UFC Fight Pass at 7:00 p.m. ET, and prelims will continue on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m., with the main card getting underway at 10 p.m. on Pay Per View. Melendez/Stephens +425 || 1u to win 4.25u

Melendez is returning to the Octagon following an extended layoff and he is dropping down to the UFC’s featherweight division for the first time, and greeting him there is Stephens, who I think is the ideal opponent for him if he is hunting another ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus, which he is no stranger to receiving. He has already said that he plans to make this a war, so if Stephens obliges, which he very likely will, then an entertaining war is what we will get. I think these two stand a good chance of taking home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors in Edmonton, and at +425, I think it is worth a play. Both 145-pounders are in dire need of a victory in this contest, as they are coming off consecutive defeats. Should they manage to take home the bonus, it would be the second time for Melendez, while being the fourth for Stephens.

Tucker/Glenn +750 1u to win 7.5u

Tucker will be looking to pick up his second victory inside the Octagon and remain undefeated by taking out Glenn, who is in search of his first UFC victory. I think this matchup stylistically has a good chance of being entertaining. Both Tucker and Glenn generally deliver entertaining performances, and I expect tonight to be no different. Tucker will have the Canadian crowd behind him, as well, so the crowd may get quite rowdy during this one, which won’t hurt Tucker and Glenn’s chances come bonus time. Should they end up earning the extra 50k for ‘Fight of the Night’ this evening, it would mean the first time for Tucker, while being the second for Glenn.

2017 FOTN results: 4–6 for +2.5u
