Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series 6 Opening Betting Odds

Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series 6 emanates from The Ultimate Fighter Gym this Tuesday (August 15, 2017) at 8 p.m. (ET) live on UFC Fight Pass. In the main event, Randall Wallace looks for his fourth straight win when he takes on Charles Byrd.

Wallace (15-6) is replacing Gabriel Checco on short notice and heads into this contest on a three fight winning streak. Byrd (8-4) submitted Jamie Pickett at Dana White’s Contender Series 1 last month but wasn’t offered a contract from UFC president Dana White. The win was the 33-year-old’s fourth in his last five fights.

In the co-main event, Roufusport standout Cameron Olson takes on Stephen Wonderboy Thompson’s teammate Karl Reed in a light heavyweight matchup. Olson (7-3) had his four-fight win streak snapped in his last bout when he was knocked out by UFC middleweight Julian Marquez at LFA 12 in May. The 27-year-old has gone 4-1 since moving up to the 205-pound division last year. Reed (2-0) made his professional MMA debut last September, and he is coming off a unanimous-decision victory over Charles Gamble at Stellar Fights 34 in May. So far, the 28-year-old has the least amount of experience out of anyone appearing on the show.

Two of MMA’s top featherweight prospects will also clash as Glory MMA product Grant Dawson battles Team Alpha Male’s Adrian Diaz. Dawson (11-1) likely would have been signed to the UFC by now if it weren’t for him missing weight in his last scheduled bout against Chuka Willis, which forced him to withdraw from the matchup. The 23-year-old has won all of his fights by stoppage, including eight by submission. Diaz (11-4-1) heads into this contest on a three-fight win streak, including a submission victory over UFC vet Cody Gibson in his last bout. The 29-year-old has only gone the distance four-times in his 16-fight career, and he hasn’t been finished in a fight since 2013.

In the first women’s fight to be featured on this series, strawweights Jamie Colleen and Tiffany Masters square off. Colleen (3-1) hasn’t competed since her first professional loss at KOTC: Night of Champions in March 2016, where she was finished by UFC strawweight Danielle Taylor. The Philadelphia native has earned all three of her fights by knockout. Meanwhile, Masters (2-0) made her professional MMA debut in December and has won back-to-back fights by stoppage. The “Rainbow Renegade” was initially slated to face Mallory Martin at Invicta FC 24 but was offered this matchup instead.

Rounding out the card is a flyweight matchup pitting Hawaii’s Martin Day taking on Jaime Alvarez. Day (5-1) rebounded from his first career loss in his last fight, picking up a TKO victory over Shojin Miki in June. “The Spartan” has won three of his five career fights by stoppage. Alvarez (6-1) has won back-to-back fights by knockout and hasn’t gone the distance in a fight since 2013.
