The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in Anaheim, CA for the seventh time in promotional history this Saturday (July 29, 2017) with UFC 214: Cormier vs. Jones II. The stacked 12-fight card is scheduled to kick off with preliminary action on UFC Fight Pass at 6:30 p.m. (ET), with televised prelims following on FXX at 8 p.m. and the main card getting underway on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. If interested in wagering on any bouts for these fight cards, all betting lines are available at Several Bookmakers.

Here are my top plays for the UFC 214 Fight Pass prelims…

Women’s Strawweight bout: Aleksandra Albu (-155) vs. Kailin Curran (+135)

Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Albu is better everywhere and feel she is capable of besting Curran both on the feet and on the mat. I can see her winning this fight by T/KO, submission or decision, which makes me like her for a play. I think she holds value at -155, as I think she should be a -250 betting favorite in this women’s 115-pound contest scheduled for three rounds.

Gabe’s Call: Albu by Submission (guillotine choke, 4:01 round 1)

Gabe’s Recommended Play: Albu (-155)

Flyweight bout: Jarred Brooks (-150) vs. Eric Shelton (+130)

Gabe’s Thoughts: Brooks is finally making his promotional debut against Shelton, and he will have a wrestling advantage heading into this contest, which I think he will find success in employing. Over the course of three rounds, I see Brooks’ wrestling being the difference as he secures takedowns and ultimately grinds out a unanimous-decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. It may be one-sided or it may be close, but either way, I see Brooks picking up the nod when all is said and done, and I would not be completely surprised to see him secure a finish along the way. At -150, I think he is a good play, as I think he should be a -250 betting favorite in this 125-pound matchup.

Gabe’s Call: Brooks by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Gabe’s Recommended Play: Brooks (-150)
