MMA Odds and Ends for Wednesday: Valerie Letourneau injured and off Friday’s Bellator 181 card

Bellator officials announced that Vaerlie Letourneau is off Friday’s Bellator 181 card due to injury. Instead, Jessica Middleton will now face Emily Ducote in a main card women’s flyweight matchup at the event, which will take place at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

Middleton (2-1) has fought all of her professional bouts under the Bellator banner, including a submisison loss to Ilima-Lei Macfarlane in her last fight at Bellator 178 in April. The 29-year-old will be competing for the third time this year.

Ducote (5-2) is coming off a submission win over Katy Collins at Bellator 174 in March. The 23-year-old is 3-1 under the Bellator banner, also suffering a loss to Macfarlane late last year.

In other news on the card, Brittney Elkin (3-3) will also be making her promotional debut, replacing Alexis Dufresne (who pulled out due to undisclosed reasons) against Amanda Bell (4-4) in a women’s featherweight bout.
