MMA Odds and Ends for Monday: Cris Cyborg vs. Megan Anderson featherweight title fight set for UFC 214

UFC officials confirmed this morning that Cris “Cyborg” Justino will battle Megan Anderson for the women’s featherweight title at UFC 214 on July 29th in Anaheim, Calif. MMA Today initially broke this story. Former champion Germaine de Randamie has been stripped of her title due to her unwillingness to fight Cyborg.

Justino (17-1, 1 No-Contest) hasn’t competed since defeating Lina Länsberg at UFC Fight Night 95. The Brazilian will fight for the first time in the UFC at 145 pounds. Meanwhile, Anderson (8-2) has remained undefeated in Invicta FC after dropping her promotional debut to Cindy Dandois. The 27-year-old became the Invicta interim featherweight champion when she defeated Charmaine Tweet this past January. UFC 214 is headlined by light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier defending his title belt against Jon Jones. This Justino-Anderson matchup would serve as the co-main event.
