Post-UFC Fight Night 108: And the Bonus Goes to…

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Nashville, TN for the fourth time in promotional history last Saturday (April 22, 2017) with UFC Fight Night 108: Swanson vs. Lobov. It was an entertaining night of action that saw six of 13 bouts end inside the distance. After the event concluded, the UFC awarded $50,000 to two fighters for “Performance of the Night” and two fighters for “Fight of the Night.” The lines to wager on these props were available at Several Bookmakers.

The post-fight bonus winners were…

Mike Perry earned Performance of the Night for his second-round, come-from-behind knockout of Jake Ellenberger. The veteran Ellenberger was outclassing him in the first round, but Perry came out strong in the second, dropping his opponent with a punch before putting him out cold with a standing elbow just moments later. It was yet another highlight added to Perry’s reel, as he bounced back into the win column and continues to make noise in the UFC’s 170-pound division.

Brandon Moreno earned Performance of the Night for his second round technical rear-naked choke submission of Dustin Ortiz in front of Ortiz’s hometown crowd. It was yet another impressive victory for the Mexican, who now enjoys a three-fight winning streak inside the Octagon and continues his climb up the UFC’s 125-pound ladder.

Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov earned Fight of the Night honors for their five-round scrap in the main event The fight largely saw Swanson control the striking and get the better of Lobov on the feet, as he came close to putting his opponent away on a number of occasions. The story of the fight ended up being Lobov’s toughness, as he survived a beating to make it to the scorecards and managed to have a few moments of his own. Popular opinion was that Swanson was going to put Lobov away within a couple of rounds, but it ended up being an entertaining fight that went the distance.
