MMA Odds and Ends for Wednesday: Holm vs. de Randamie set for inaugural UFC women’s featherweight title

480 Holly Holm vs. Germaine de Randamie set for inaugural UFC women’s featherweight title UFC officials announced on Tuesday that former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm will take on Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural 145-pound title at UFC 208 on February 11th. Holm (10-2) heads into this matchup off back-to-back losses against Miesha Tate and most recently dropping a unanimous decision to Valentina Shevchenko at UFC on FOX 20. Prior to the setbacks, Holm defeated Ronda Rousey to win the UFC bantamweight title. De Randamie (7-3) is coming off a first-round stoppage victory over Anna Elmose.

 UFC 208 will take place in Brooklyn, New York.
Junior Dos Santos vs. Stefan Struve rematch headlines UFC Fight Night Halifax

UFC officials announced this morning that former heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos will battle Stefan Struve in the main event of UFC Fight Night 105. Dos Santos (18-4) heads into this matchup off a unanimous decision victory over Ben Rothwell and will be looking for his first two-fight win streak since 2012. Struve (28-8) is coming off back-to-back wins over Antonio Silva and Daniel Omielanczuk. The UFC also signed Canadian bantamweight Aiemann Zahabi (6-0), brother of legendary coach Firas Zahabi, and he will battle Reginaldo Vieir (13-4). Also added was a welterweight matchup between Nordine Taleb (12-3) vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio (23-3). UFC Fight Night 105 takes place at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on Sunday, Feburary 19th. Gastelum (13-2) remained undefeated at middleweight with his win over Kennedy, as he also previously earned victories over Uriah Hall and Nate Marquardt. Belfort (25-13) has lost back-to-back fights to Gegard Mousasi and Ronaldo Souza.
