Ryan CoutureBellator 162: Shlemenko vs Grove Date: October 21, 2016 Arena: FedEx Forum City: Memphis, TN Bellator is back tonight with Bellator 162: Shlemenko vs Grove. The four fight main card is set to kick off on Spike TV at 9pm ET, with preliminary action preceding it on the promotion’s website at 6:45pm. If interested in wagering on these plays, or any plays for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakers. Here are my live dogs: Middleweight bout: Alexander Shlemenko (-255) vs Kendall Grove (+215) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Grove’s advantages in size and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu may prove to be the difference in this contest. On the feet, I can see him keeping things close and even getting the better of the smaller fighter in Shlemenko. On the mat, I think the fight will be in his world and he will likely finish it, which is what I expect to happen. I see him taking this fight to the mat one way or another in the opening stanza and eventually securing a submission victory. I like the Hawaiian for the upset here in this spot. Gabe’s Call: Grove by Submission (rear naked choke, 2:09 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Grove (+215) 2u to win 4.3u Lightweight bout: Goiti Yamauchi (-210) vs Ryan Couture (+175) Gabe’s Thoughts: Following a unanimous decision loss to Bubba Jenkins at 145-pounds, Yamauchi has opted to make the move up to the lightweight division, where he will be greeted by Couture. i think this a close fight, and at the current odds, I see a lot of value in Couture. Gabe’s Call: Couture by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Couture (+175) 2u to win 3.5u
