Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 113 Opening Odds:
- In the main event, Mario Bautista faces off against Vinicius Oliveira at bantamweight. Bautista is coming off a decision loss to Umar Nurmagomedov, which snapped an eight-fight win streak. Despite losing to Nurmagomedov, Bautista remains one of the best bantamweights in the world. As for Oliveira, he is a perfect 4-0 in the UFC and is coming off a decision win over Kyler Phillips. Oliveira is a very good prospect, but this is a major step up in competition, and the betting odds opened up with Bautista as the betting favorite in this main event fight.
- In the co-main event, we have a flyweight bout between Kyoji Horiguchi and Amir Albazi. Horiguchi is coming off a tremendous win over Tagir Ulanbekov in his return to the Octagon after several years of fighting for RIZIN. He called for a title shot in his second fight back, but instead, the UFC has matched him up with Albazi, who is still ranked highly in the weight class despite losing a one-sided fight to Brandon Moreno his last time out. While Albazi has several quality wins inside the Octagon, Horiguchi is the more talented fighter and should win here, hence his favorite status.
