Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC 324 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC 324 features the interim UFC lightweight belt on the line between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett. Gaethje has won three of his last four fights, including a decision win over Rafael Fiziev in his last bout. As for Pimblett, he has gone 7-0 so far in the UFC and was last seen smashing Michael Chandler at UFC 314 in April 2025. Although you can’t ever count Gaethje out of a fight, given his KO power, you have to lean toward Pimblett here, given his youth and the fact that he should have the superior ground game as well.
- In the co-main event, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison was set to battle former champion Amanda Nunes for the title. However, Harrison was forced to withdraw due to neck surgery, and the fight has been postponed. That elevates other fights on the main card, such as Derrick Lewis vs. Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Sean O’Malley vs. Song Yadong, up higher on the card instead. Hopefully, the UFC will be able to re-book Harrison vs. Nunes soon, with rumors suggesting it could happen at the UFC White House card in June, should Harrison be healed up by then.
