Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vancouver Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Vancouver is a five-round middleweight bout between Reinier de Ridder and Brendan Allen, who took this fight on short notice after Anthony Hernandez pulled out due to an injury. De Ridder has looked incredible since he joined the UFC last year, going a perfect 4-0 so far with a notable split decision win over former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker in his last outing. As for Allen, he is coming off a decision win over Marvin Vettori in his last fight, which snapped a two-fight losing skid. While Allen is a solid fighter, de Ridder should have him covered everywhere here, and is a deserved favorite to win the fight.
- Also on the card is a welterweight bout between Mike Malott and Kevin Holland. Malott is 5-1 in the UFC, and he has won two straight fights since his shocking TKO defeat to Kevin Holland last year. As for Holland, he was shocked by Daniel Rodriguez in his last fight, which was one of the biggest upsets of the year so far. Still, don’t write off Holland after just one fight, as he’s a dangerous fighter, and this bout could realistically go either way.
