Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Dana White’s Contender Series 80:

  • The main event of this week’s edition of Dana White’s Contender Series features Jack Congdon against Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani at welterweight. Congdon comes to DWCS from Cage Titans, where he won his last three fights heading into this DWCS opportunity. As for Lebosnoyani, he has also won his last three fights in a row, and he has spent the majority of his career fighting in LFA, which is the ultimate UFC feeder league. This is a well-matched bout, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see this one go either way. That being said, I have to lean toward Lebosnoyani to get the win in this one, just because he has fought the higher level of competition heading into this bout.
  • The co-main event features the brother of UFC middleweight Michal Oleksiejczuk in action when Cezary Oleksiejczuk battles Theo Haig at 185 lbs. Oleksiejczuk has won his last three MMA fights, including a knockout win over former UFC fighter Tom Breese in his last outing. As for Haig, he is undefeated with a 6-0 record, and he previously fought for LFA and Bellator MMA. This should be a good fight, but given the roll that Oleksiejczuk has been on, you have to lean his way, as the knockout win over Breese in his last bout shows that he can be a UFC-level fighter.
