Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 107 Opening Odds:
- In the main event of UFC Vegas 107, we have a five-round women’s flyweight bout between Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber. Blanchfield is 7-1 overall in the UFC and is coming off a win over Rose Namajunas in her last fight to bounce back following a loss to Manon Fiorot before that. As for Barber, she is 9-2 overall in the UFC, and she has won her last six fights in a row. This is a tremendous fight between two of the best young women’s flyweights in the UFC, and two fighters who could very well fight for the belt one day. Blanchfield is the favorite given she should have the grappling advantage, but Barber is physically strong and has looked great as of late, so don’t count her out of pulling off the upset in this spot.
- In the co-main event, it’s a lightweight bout between Mateusz Gamrot and Ludovit Klein. Gamrot is coming off a close split decision loss to Dan Hooker which snapped a three-fight win streak before that. As for Klein, he has won four straight fights, and he is unbeaten over his last seven bouts overall. Gamrot is the favorite in this fight, which makes sense given he is the higher-ranked fighter and has fought better quality of opposition, but don’t count out Klein from winning. He is a great fighter in his own right, and stylistically matches up well with Gamrot.
