Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 147:

  • The main event is a lightweight bout between Melquizael Costa and Junior Melo. Costa has won six of his last seven fights, although he did lose in his LFA debut earlier this year. As for Melo, he has won his last two fights for LFA, including an underdog upset win over Adam Assenza in his last outing. Overall, this looks like an exciting fight on paper between two very talented Brazilian fighters. Costa opened up as the betting favorite here, likely because he is the more experienced fighter. But Melo is very good himself and the odds are close for this.
  • The co-main event is a bantamweight bout between Justin Wetzell and Rafael Do Nascimento. Wetzell has been red-hot as of late as he’s won his last five fights in a row heading into this contest, including three straight wins in LFA. As for Do Nascimento, he’s won his last three fights heading into bout, including a victory in LFA in his last outing. This should be an exciting fight between two solid fighters, but Wetzell opened up as the clear avorite for this fight.
