Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 144:
- The main event of Cage Warriors 144 sees CWFC bantamweight champion Dominique Wooding put his belt on the line against Michele Martignoni. Wooding has won his last three fights in devastating fashion and he definitely seems like a fighter who could get a UFC shot at some point. Although Wooding struggled in Bellator with just a 1-2 record there, he has looked absolutely sensational since joining Cage Warriors. As for Martignoni, he is 2-1, 1 NC in CWFC, while also being a former member of the Bellator roster. This should be a great fight for the CWFC bantamweight championship, but you have to lean towards Wooding in this one. He’s done big things in CWFC lately and he deserves to be the clear favorite to win this fight.
- Also on the card is a featherweight bout between Morgan Charriere and Alberth Dias. Charriere is the former CWFC featherweight champion, but he’s coming off two straight losses and needs to bounce back in a big way. Dias, meanwhile, is making his CWFC debut here after previously competing in Bellator in his last outing. However, that fight was two years ago. Given that Charriere is the far more experienced fighter and has fought better competition, not to mention he’s been more active, he has to be the betting favorite to get his hand raised here.
