Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Dana White’s Contender Series 52:

  • The main event of DWCS 52 is a welterweight bout between Yusaku Kinoshita and Jose Henrique. Kinoshita is only 22 years old and he is already 5-1 in his MMA career while fighting for Pancrase, RIZIN, and DEEP. All of his wins have come by stoppage, and he’s actually fought a surprisingly high level of competition in his fights. Henrique, meanwhile, is an LFA veteran who has a number of knockout victories on his resume. Both fighters look like solid prospects, but Kinoshita’s level of competition has been better and that’s why he’s favored.
  • Also on the card is a light heavyweight bout between Matej Penaz and Sedriques Dumas. Penaz is a former GLORY kickboxer who is already 6-0 as a pro, with all of his fights coming in the Oktagon MMA promotion. He looks like a serious knockout artist and would be a solid addition to the UFC if he is able to pass this test on DWCS. As for Dumas, he is already 6-0 with five of his wins coming by stoppage. He looks like a great prospect too. This is a really intriguing fight and I would fully expect the winner to get signed to the UFC with a finish.
  • Overall this looks like a really fun Dana White’s Contender Series card with a number of well-matched fights.
