Here are my quick thoughts on the PFL Challenger Series 2

  • The main event of PFL Challenger Series 2 is a welterweight bout between Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi and Michael Lilly. Al-Silawi is coming off of a TKO win over former UFC fighter Ismail Naurdiev in his last fight, which saw him capture the BRAVE CF super welterweight title. Al-Silawi is not a big name for fans in North America, but those who have been watching him fight in the Middle East know this is a really good fight. In fact, he has a 2018 knockout win over current UFC standout Carlston Harris. Overall, he looks like a phenomenal prospect. As for Lilly, he is is a veteran of the Florida regional MMA scene and he has fought a number of UFC veterans throughout his career. However, he has a record of 7-6 for a reason. This should be Al-Silawi’s fight to lose. He should be able to win this fight and likely do so via stoppage.
  • The co-main event sees Dilano Taylor take on Mark Martin. Taylor is riding a six-fight win streak into this fight with the majority of his bouts coming under the Titan FC banner. As for Martin, he is an LFA veteran who has won six straight fights. This looks like a competitive fight, but the oddsmakers have Taylor listed as a sizeable favorite. I lean slightly towards Taylor, but this is definitely a close fight and probably the closest fight of the four-fight slate.
