Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC 270 Opening Odds:

  • The main event of UFC 270 features UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou taking on interim heavyweight champ Ciryl Gane. This should be an absolutely incredible title fight featuring two of the best heavyweights we have ever seen step inside the Octagon. Ngannou has been on a roll as of late, having won his last five fights in a row, including a brutal KO win over Stipe Miocic last year to claim the belt. As for Gane, he’s unbeaten in the UFC at 7-0 and in MMA at 10-0. In his last fight, he knocked out Derrick Lewis to win the interim belt. What’s interesting here is that the betting line has flipped. Since Ngannou opened as the favorite, it’s now Gane who is favored. This will be an intriguing fight to watch given the changing odds.
  • The co-main event features the trilogy fight between UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno and former champ Deiveson Figueiredo. This is the third year in a row these two have met. In 2020, they drew. In 2021, Moreno beat Figueiredo to claim the title. Who knows what will happen in 2022. What is interesting here is that after opening as the underdog for the first two fights, Moreno is now favored to win this trilogy fight, with Figueiredo as a dog for the first time.
