Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 122:

  • The main event of LFA 122 features flyweight champion Charles Jonson putting his belt on the line against the undefeated Carlos Mota. Johnson is coming off of four straight wins in MMA including back-to-back victories in title fights. The Tiger Muay Thai product has been on a roll as of late and he could get the call to the UFC if he wins this fight. That being said, I expect Mota to give Johnson a very tough challenge. After all, he’s an unbeaten fighter who picked up a big win in the LFA last year. This should be an awesome fight between two solid flyweight prospects on the cusp of the UFC. As the champion, it’s understandable why Johnson is favored here, but Mota certainly is a live dog to pull off this title fight upset.
  • The co-main event features lightweights Brant Moore and Arthur Estrazulas. Moore has won his last seven fights in a row with a win over former UFC fighter Joe Giannetti during that stretch. As for Estrazulas, he has a ton of experience fighting for shows such as PFL and Bellator. However, he has never been able to take that next big step in his MMA career and reach the UFC. Based on recent form, Moore makes sense as the favorite in this fight.
