Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 114:
- The main event of LFA 114 is a vacant featherweight title bout between Bruno Souza and Javier Garcia. Souza has won his last nine fights in a row including a decision win over current UFC fighter Kamuela Kirk last year. Silva was originally set to fight Canaan Kawaihae but Garcia stepped up when Kawaihae was pulled from the card. Garcia enters this fight on a three-fight losing skid. Crazy enough, he fought current UFC welterweight Gabe Green in Combate in 2018. Now at featherweight, it will be interesting to see how Garcia performs against someone like Souza who seems on the cusp of making it to the UFC. This should be a competitive fight but Souza deserves to be the favorite based on his level of competition lately.
- The co-main event of LFA 114 features Charles Johnson against Joao Camilo for the interim LFA flyweight title. Johnson, who has fought the likes of current UFC standout Brandon Royval, enters this bout on a two-fight win streak. As for Camilo, he is a Combate and LFA veteran who won his last fight. The oddsmakers Johnson opened as the clear favorite here.
