Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 110:

  • The main event features Charles Johnson (8-2) against Yuma Horiuchi (8-3) for the interim LFA flyweight title. The 30-year-old Johnson has been splitting his time over the last few years between MMA and boxing, but he has really been excelling in mixed martial arts, including a 3-1 mark in LFA alone. Johnson was most recently seen earlier this year in LFA, making his comeback to the sport with a submission win over Karlee Pangilinan. It will be interesting to see how he looks in this encore performance. As for Horiuchi, the 23-year-old native of Japan is a DEEP veteran who is 1-1 so far in LFA. He has lost two of his last three bouts, though he is coming off of a win in April in the LFA cage. Though I wouldn’t count Horiuchi out considering he is a young and improving fighter, Johnson seems to be the rightful favorite.
  • The co-main event is a middleweight bout between Chibwikem Onyenegecha (7-0) and Renato Valente (7-4). The 27-year-old Onyenegecha defeated Anthony Adams on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018, but he hasn’t been able to fight since then. It will be intriguing to see what he looks like after such a long layoff. As for the 28-year-old Valente, he lost his last outing in LFA earlier this year, but he has been far more active as of late than his opponent here. Still, I have to lean towards the undefeated Onyenegecha to win this fight.
