Dustin Poirier future odds released for four fights in wake of Conor McGregor KO

Dustin-Poirier

This past Saturday at UFC 257, Dustin Poirier pulled off a big upset when he knocked out UFC superstar Conor McGregor in the second round of their main event bout. The win puts Poirier in an enviable position going forward, as he’ll be the first fighter the matchmakers call up for the next UFC lightweight title bout. Odds are that UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov vacates his title as expected and Poirier ends up fighting someone else for the belt. But, of course, there is still a chance he could get that rematch. WIth Poirier’s win over McGregor fresh on the minds of the online sportsbooks, the odds have been released for four future Poirier bouts. Check out the odds below.

Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor 3

Conor McGregor -140
Dustin Poirier +120

Following the upset loss, McGregor said he wants the trilogy with Poirier. After all, they are 1-1, and a third fight would break the deadlock. If the UFC books the trilogy, then the oddsmakers slightly favor McGregor at the window. Remember, the odds are not just about who the sportsbooks think will win, but also who they think the money will come in on. McGregor was a -340 favorite at UFC 257, so despite being knocked out, he opened as a small favorite for the third fight with McGregor.

Dustin Poirier vs. Charles Oliveira

Dustin Poirier -150
Charles Oliveira +130

The man with the longest winning streak in the division aside from Nurmagomedov is Oliveira, who has won eight straight fights. He’s coming off of back-to-back wins over Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee in 2020 and has been calling for a title shot. After over a decade of fighting in the UFC, Oliveira has finally turned a corner and is fighting with a ton of confidence. If he fights Poirier, the books opened him as a small underdog. With his incredible submission game, Oliveira can win this fight.

Dustin Poirier vs. Michael Chandler

Dustin Poirier -200
Michael Chandler +170

Following his KO win over Dan Hooker at UFC 257, there is a ton of hype behind the former Bellator lightweight champion Chandler. Believe it or not, but there are many MMA fans who only watch the UFC and the Hooker fight was their introduction to Chandler. UFC president Dana White said that Chandler could very well be in line to fight Poirier for a vacant title. If that’s the case, then Poirier will enter the fight as a 2-to-1 favorite. But after seeing Chandler destroy Hooker, he is a live dog here.

Dustin Poirier vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov 2

Khabib Nurmagomedov -500
Dustin Poirier +385

Even though it seems like Nurmagomedov has his heart set on retirement, the oddsmakers released a line in the event he returns to fight Poirier in his 30th professional bout. Nurmagomedov opened as a 5-to-1 favorite, and considering how he dominated Poirier when they met at UFC 242, it’s hard to see a rematch going any differently. Out of all these future matchups for Poirier, a rematch with Nurmagomedov seems like the toughest one for him, and unsurprisingly he’s a huge underdog here.
