Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 119:

  • The main event of Cage Warriors 119 is a vacant featherweight title bout between Morgan Charriere (15-7-1) and Perry Andre Goodwin (10-6). The 25-year-old Cherreire has been fighting as a pro since 2014 and has a 2-1 record in CWFC, with a knockout win over Dean Trueman in his last fight back in October 2019. Due to COVID-19 issues, Cherriere hasn’t been able to fight in 2020 until now. As for Goodwin, the 28-year-old Brit has also been a pro since 2014, going 4-3 in CWFC since joining the promotion in 2017. He is also riding a two-fight win streak with a decision over Steve Aimable back in March. Cherriere is the younger fighter and he has the ability to finish fights, and I see him scoring the win here by stoppage.
  • The co-main event of Cage Warriors 119 sees the vacant lightweight lt on the line between Jack Grant (16-5) and Agy Sardari (12-2). Grant is a 28-year-old Brit who turned pro back in 2012. Since then, he has 4-1 overall in CWFC with his lone loss in the promotion coming to UFC lightweight Jai Herbert. In his last fight back in September, Grant was able to score a submission win over Yassine Belhadj, and overall he has won seven of his last eight bouts. As for Sardari, the 27-year-old Netherlands native has been a pro since 2014 and he is making his CWFC on a six-fight win streak. In October, Sardari won two fights during a one-night tournament. Although Grant is the more experienced fighter in CWFC, his three knockout losses are troubling to me against a finisher like Sardari. Give me the dog here to win.
  • In the featherweight division, Paul Hughes (6-0) takes on Jordan Vucenic (6-1). Hughes is a Northern Ireland-based fighter who turned pro in 2017 and who has gone 4-0 with four finishes since joining CWFC in 2019. He looks like a tremendous prospect in the promotion’s 145lbs division. As for Vucenic, The 24-year-old Brit has also been a pro since 2017 and he has won both of his fights so far in CWFC. Vucenic is solid but I really like Hughes to win this fight.
  • At welterweight, the unbeaten Ian Garry (4-0) takes on Lawrence Tracey (5-4). Garry turned pro in 2019 and so far the Ireland native has won all four of his pro fights, with all of them coming in CWFC. As for Tracey, the Brit previously competed in CWFC in 2017-2018, going 1-1 in the promotion. Tracey has had a really weird career as he’s gone win-loss for his whole career, so this is a fighter who can’t gain any momentum. He also has a number of stoppage losses in his career. This looks like CWFC giving Garry an opponent that he can style on.
