This Sunday (May 31, 2020), Chael Sonnen will present the fourteenth installment of the submission-only grappling competition Submission Underground 14 from Portland, Oregon. The event will begin at 6 p.m. (ET) and features some of the biggest names in MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Grappling oddsmaker Ozzy Perez just sent out his opening betting odds for the Submission Underground 14 moments ago, as well as a write-up on the top four matches.

Craig Jones vs Vanger Rocha
“Jones & Rocha will face off against each other for the 2nd time in the SUG 14 main event. Their first encounter at EBI 11 was won by Vanger Rocha in overtime. In the 3 years since that loss, Craig Jones has lit the grappling world on fire and has become one of its top stars. Vanger has also stayed active and placed 2nd in the 77kg division at ADCC 2019. Craig Jones who normally grapples at a full weight class higher than Rocha opens as a -400 favorite with Vanger Rocha the underdog at +280.”
Austin Vanderford vs Gabriel Checho
“Both of these MMA fighters have found success under the SUG umbrella. Vanderford was the talk of the last event, he submitted Richie Martinez in overtime after closing upwards of +200. Both men are familiar with the ruleset and will play to their strengths (Wrestling & top position for Vanderford, crafty guard work, and submission attacks for Checho) Austin Vanderford opens as a -155 favorite with Gabriel Checho coming back at +115.”
Jordan Holy vs Andrew Alexander
“Two SUG veterans, these featherweights have been getting some name recognition of late. Alexander appeared on the last card and performed well but ultimately was submitted in overtime by Ethan Crelinstein. Holy on the other hand won his last SUG match vs Frank Rosenthal (A teammate of Crelinstein) by overtime RNC.  Jordan Holy opens as a -180 favorite, Andrew Alexander the underdog is +140.”
Jake Shields vs Brett Primus
“We have an interesting MMA crossover matchup between Brett Primus and Jake Shields. Shields has stayed very active in the grappling scene and at 41 he is still a tough match for anyone. The former Bellator champion Primus has recorded 6 of his 10 wins by submissions and even has one finish via Gogoplata. It will be interesting to see how Primus fares with a proven grappler like Shields in his pro grappling debut. Jake Shields opens as a -130 favorite with Brett Primus coming in the dog at -110.”
