LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Headlining the T-Mobile Arena are two true legends of this sport in a rematch eleven years in the making between Charles Oliveira and Max Holloway for the “BMF” belt.
Bet: Max Holloway Wins by TKO or Decision (-170)
Holloway is a better fighter everywhere compared to Oliveira, outside of the submission and grappling aspect. In a fight that I expect to stay on the feet, Holloway’s volume and striking will lead him to either a TKO finish or a clear decision win. Holloway is the more durable fighter, too, although his chin may have begun to be less dependable now than it once was.
Oliveira’s best path to victory has got to be on the ground here. If he can get Holloway on the ground, maybe via a clinch or a back take, and then attack for a submission, it would be the safest way for him to get the win. Oliveira has improved a lot on the feet since their first meeting, but his durability is still questionable, and the differences in volume and speed could be the deciding factor. Max needs to be very cautious of the clinch and grappling attempts from Oliveira. Circling away, staying out of the clinch, and keeping Oliveira at a distance with strikes will either lead to a finish at some point or a clear decision win.
