Cain Velasquez vs. Fabricio Werdum rematch pulled from UFC 207
Ariel Helwani confirmed Saturday that the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) has pulled Cain Velasquez from his rematch against Fabricio Werdum this Friday. The news comes just a week after the former UFC heavyweight champion Velasquez told ESPN.com that he’s been using cannabidiol oil for pain due to a back and leg injury.
Velasquez (14-2) also had to pull out of a rematch with a back injury in February against Werdum. Prior to all this, Velasquez revealed he was having back surgery on January 4th. The UFC announced they will not look for a new opponent for Werdum (21-6-1), who is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Travis Browne at UFC 203.
