Frank Trigg gets the down-low directly from Strikeforce Welterweight number one contender Tarec Saffiedine (13 wins – 3 losses) prior to his match up versus journeyman Champion Nate Marquardt (35 wins – 10 Losses – 2 draws) scheduled for January 12th 2013. No matter how you look at it, on paper Saffiedine has his hands full with Marquardt. Saffiedine does have one edge in that he has never been stopped by any opponent in the Octagon. Saffiedine will be looking to become Strikeforce’s last Welterweight Champion with a victory over the his favored veteran opponent. Strikeforce OKC will be the last Strikeforce event ever. UFC front-man Dana White will be closing down the longtime fight league following this event. Both fighters will be looking to join the UFC’s Welterweight stable with an impressive showing in this match up.
